Safety Manager
Job purpose
The Safety Manager administers the employee and company safety program, security program, and coordinates with other personnel and outside providers to ensure compliance. This is a full time, direct hire, 1st shift opportunity.
Essential Functions:
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
· Coordinates with Human Resources to maintain the Worker’s Compensation program as it relates to injured employees, restrictions and follow up appointments.
· Work with medical providers to ensure proper care and facilitate employees’ return to work.
· Maintain injury records on an internal incident log and the OSHA 300 Log.
· Work with managers to accommodate employees on restricted duty.
· Receive and record all accident reports.
· Investigate incident and accident reports.
· Assist in determining corrective actions to address risks and prevent injuries.
· Coordinates outside providers for additional services such as audiograms and compliance training.
· Maintain OSHA 300 log by division for annual posting and other reporting.
· Coordinate all aspects of safety and OSHA training programs for compliance.
· Observe plant operations and make recommendations for additional safety training programs.
· Conduct regular safety and security audits.
· Coordinate / monitor First Responder program.
· Works with vendors to evaluate current programs/offerings and determine if there are better options.
· Work with safety committees to achieve pre-determined goals and objectives.
· Reviews, communicates and enforces all safety programs and policies.
· Executes assigned tasks for safety program compliance or improvement set forth by their Manager.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent work experience.
· Knowledge of OSHA and ANSI requirements. OSHA Certificates desired.
· Minimum of three years’ practical experience in safety position, preferably in an industrial setting.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills.
· Proven leadership skills.
· Organizational/prioritization skills required computer familiarity is required.
· Self-motivating and goal setting.
· Must be able to speak, read and write English; Bilingual a plus
